The USA has the world's largest international student population, a number nearing 600,000, which is nearly 4% of all students enrolled in the USA. From the middle of the 1950's, when international student enrollment was only just reaching 35,000, international education in the USA has come a long way.

  • Average cost per year per student for university study, including books and housing is about $15,000 (U.S. dollars)
     
  • Most students from outside of the United States do not receive financial aid to attend school.

One can expect a high degree of professionalism in the work scenario in the US. In order to work in the US one must obtain a Labour Certification stating:

  • There are no qualified workers in the US able and willing to work.
     
  • Working conditions and remuneration of similarly employed US workers will not be adversely affected by the applicant's employment.
